Protecting Taxpayers
Passing SB2 slowed the growth of Texans’ property tax bills. Unfortunately, it did not decrease taxes or address transparency issues in the appraisal process.
One idea with potential is passing fiscally conservative State budgets and using surplus revenue to buy down M&O school property taxes.
There is still much to be done and I will fight to protect Texans from being taxed out of their homes.
Border Security
Securing our borders is an important role of government, and Texas has been forced to act in areas where Congress refuses to step up to the plate. We must continue to ban sanctuary cities and encourage State and local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration officials.
Funds must also be allocated at the Federal and State level to effectively secure the border by means of physical barriers (wall) and other means necessary to keep Americans and Texans safe.
There is an invasion at our Southern border which the government and its officers have a duty to stop. Let’s not forget that State Representatives also take an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution.
Grow the Economy
Pro business and economic policies maintain Texas as the #1 ranked state for business according to Chief Executive’s Best and Worst State for Business survey.
Cutting taxes and regulations as well as investing in infrastructure maintain Texas as a leader for business growth. I myself left the high tax and cost of living area in Maryland between Baltimore and Washington D.C. to move to Texas to enjoy the better cost of living and job opportunity. I will continue to support the policies that make Texas great and defend them from people trying to replicate the failed policies of California.
Defend Individual Liberty
Bill of Rights

Our rights come from our Creator, not the government. A primary function of government is to protect our rights, not to infringe on them.
Second Amendment:
The Second Amendment is there to prevent government tyranny and defend against the infringement of individual rights. I fully support and will defend the Second Amendment against any government overreach.
Freedom of Speech and Religion
Freedom of speech is a fundamental right which makes our nation exceptional. I support recent efforts to reinforce that liberty by prohibiting restrictive practices of public colleges and universities to stifle free speech. I also believe in protecting religious liberty for ALL Texans.
Free Market Over Socialism
Free markets are the economic system of free individuals, and free markets have helped lift people out of poverty. Competition makes products and services better as well as cheaper. Stifling competition causes less innovation and higher prices. The Left believe that government regulation control of business will lead to efficiency gains and lower prices. Free market principles should be supported in all areas of business, especially healthcare.
Protect Vulnerable Texans
Pro-Life
It is infuriating to see the Left fight to allow abortion up to childbirth. In some cases they even try to get away with ending life after the child is born… that’s murder! The unborn deserve our protection, and NO taxpayer money should be spent supporting abortions.
Human Trafficking:
Human trafficking is a huge problem in the Houston area due to its proximity to airports, seaports, and major highways. Houston ranks #1 among cities, and Texas as a whole ranks #2 among the states (second to California). Sex trafficking and labor trafficking is modern day slavery and is a serious problem which requires appropriate resources from the state.
Infrastructure
Flood Control
Robert witnessed the devastating effects of floods during the “Tax Day” flood and Hurricane Harvey. Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat themselves. Proper drainage projects and other flood control measures should be prioritized to prevent and minimize the severity of similar future events.
Infrastructure
Texas needs to fund infrastructure in order to 1) keep up with needed repairs, and 2) to build new roads and infrastructure as Texas grows.
State funding should adequately fund our highways without using tolls or raiding emergency funds.
