About Robert Boettcher
Background:
Rob Boettcher is no stranger to taking on the liberal elite. While Texas is his home, he has lived in several states where conservative values were not as popular (Maryland & California). It prepared Rob to be able to debate against liberal ideas down to their core values: usually individual freedom. The Left is working to push their “Build Back Better” socialist agenda onto Texas from a top down Federal approach. Rob is exactly what HD-28 needs in terms of energy, leadership, and intellect to fight back the Left’s advance and fight for conservative ideals in Austin.
Rob comes from a family dedicated to public service. Both of his grandfathers, three uncles, and four cousins served in the armed forces including the Marines, Army, Navy, and Coast Guard. His father was a career civil servant for the federal government having served in leadership positions in various departments including Commerce, Capitol Police, DOJ, & Homeland Security. Rob even started his engineering career in the public sector working on hydroelectric power plants for the Department of Interior.
Since then, Rob has grown in his career to become a Senior Engineer for Schlumberger, the largest oil and gas services company in the world. His next step is working to serve and represent the great constituents of HD-28.
Family:
Rob and Leah have been together going on eight years. They met at a local pro baseball game in Bakersfield, CA while Rob was on field assignment for Schlumberger. At the conclusion of the assignment, they moved back to Texas together and purchased a beautiful home in Sugar Land, TX where they raise their adorable six year old daughter Lilah. She is a frequent fixture at political events, Executive Committee meetings, and Conventions. My family looks forward to meeting you on the campaign trail!
Education:
Rob holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park. Please don’t hold it against him that Maryland beat UT at football the last two times they played. If you’re an Aggie that must count for an automatic vote!
He finished his Bachelor’s degree in 3.5 years and his Master’s degree in one year – all while playing club baseball and working engineering internships over the summers.
Career Experience:
Rob is currently a Senior Engineer with over a decade of engineering experience in various roles and companies focusing on energy generation, distribution, and most recently oil & gas. A career with Schlumberger, the largest oil & gas services company in the world, along with favorable tax environment and a great community to live and raise children was a primary motivator for Rob to move to Sugar Land, TX in Fort Bend County.
He understands how important energy and oil & gas is to the Texas economy. With his expertise in problem identification, root cause analysis, and cost efficient solutions, Rob will utilize that same skill set while in Austin.
